Currently, we rely on borrowed, aging, and often too-small personal vehicles. This forces us to:

• Make multiple trips, wasting valuable time, fuel, and volunteer hours that could be better spent serving the community.
• Limit the amount of food we can rescue from local partners, meaning nutritious items sometimes go to waste instead of to hungry families.
• Face frequent breakdowns, leading to missed pick-ups and delays in getting critical resources to those who need them most. Imagine a cold morning when a borrowed truck fails, preventing us from delivering warm blankets and hot meals to our unsheltered friends. This isn’t just a logistical problem—it’s a barrier to compassion.

A new delivery van will immediately and profoundly transform the capacity of The Shepherd’s Heart and Hands to fulfill our mission:

Increased Food Rescue Capacity: We can secure larger, more consistent food donations, allowing us to serve more individuals through our Food Box Ministry and reduce food insecurity across Muncie.
Faster, Wider Reach: A reliable van will enable us to establish new delivery routes, reaching families in outlying areas of Delaware County who currently lack access to transportation.

Enhanced Program Support: This vehicle will be crucial for major events like our annual Christmas for the Homeless outreach, efficiently transporting hundreds of gifts, meals, and essential survival items directly to those living rough.
